From Preservation Master to On-line Access: Automating Workflows for huge Media Collections

Automatic workflows are suitable to systematically enhance the archive content user value. For this the automatic enrichment of metadata is the key component. Step one is the quality controlled ingest with automatic inclusion of technical metadata from the used playback devices, step two the automatic DSP based audio quality & content analysis. In step three descriptive and structural metadata will be enriched through access to internal and/or internet databases. This metadata package will be the basis for full automatic metadata driven audio restoration. The access to the archived media will be provided in the requested format and bitrate by automatic routines for conversion. Client implementations will be presented.
