One focus of the project lies on introducing and standardizing mathematical descriptions of the transfer process from the analog film to the digital essence files provided as a rich metadata description of the full transfer process. This approach will also allow an efficient based quality assessment and the foundation for automated digital restoration of the content.

A second focus is to secure that today''s best practice approach will be transformed into a highly automated workflow supported by the CineXPRES automation expert system. The CineXPRES user-group, consisting of film technology experts and professionals, will be established in order to guarantee that the best practice approaches are used.

We are happy to participate to a project working on the becoming mandatory new technologies to preserve the film assets for the future generations and also provide efficient automated processing tools to remove damage that may exist on analog media.
