Conference: 'Unlocking Audio 2 - Connecting with Listeners'
Monday 16 & Tuesday 17 March 2009
The British Library Conference Centre, London
The 2009 'Unlocking Audio 2' Conference hosted by the British Library Sound Archive in London, UK.
Unlocking Audio 2: Connecting with Listeners is a key event exploring the use of sounds online. The conference will explore ways that researchers and other audiences expect to discover, browse, audition and analyse archival audio resources.
How should knowledge organizations, application developers and researchers work together to unlock audio assets while remaining within regulatory frameworks?
The conference celebrates the end of the second Archival Sound Recordings project, which has answered this question successfully.
At the optional tour of the Sound Archive studios, participants could discuss the practical realisation of British Library’s ingest solutions based on Cube-Tec’s QUADRIGA and DOBBIN technology.
'Unlocking Audio 2: Connecting with Listeners' was organised by:
Richard Ranft, Chris Clark, Peter Findlay, Ginevra House, Joanna Newman, Will Prentice, Victoria Carson, Sarah Maskell, Alison Faraday.
Cube-Tec is one of the sponsors of British Library Conference.
