In the past, a film digitization project usually focused on a single, precise intention to exploit the digitized material, but in recent years the systematic digitization of analog film materials with the aim of long-term digital preservation has gained considerable momentum. This is especially true against the background of the constantly decreasing possibilities of so-called photochemical preservation.
