There are some very interesting deliverables from other PrestoSpace partners, including public disclosure of several tools and related information. For example, the BBC has produced a 5 DVD package called "Training Materials for Old Playback Machines", showing how experts do digitization transfers, on: 2" & 1" videotape; U-Matic videotape; Telecine (film to video) and Audio (disc and tape recordings).

A lot of helpful guidelines for Planning Digitization Projects are available online. There are decision-making aids to design a Preservation Strategy, assistance in determining priorities, and reports providing knowledge and expertise in tape chemistry and tape playability statistics. You can use the playability statistics to estimate the number of problems you're likely to encounter prior to starting your Digitization Project.

Also online is a Preservation Project Cost Calculator, starting with an analysis of your requirements for preservation and digital storage of your archive, including a cost breakdown. PrestoSpace provides a Wiki, which is in the public domain, under Creative Commons license.
